Hey,

I'm Arslan.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer with a strong passion for robotics and mechatronics applications.
Here's a bit more about me.

Here are some of my projects.

  • Raspberry Pi Fresh-water Farming Rig (2023)

Python, SolidWorks, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Raspberry Pi OS, Grafana Cloud

Raspberry Pi freshwater farming rig for crayfish. Utilizes Linux based systems to monitor the water level, turbidity, pH and water temperature to ensure the best environemnt for breeding freshwater crayfish. The database is hosted online and managed through mySQL. There is a live analysis of the data and it is summarized to a grafana cloud dashboard for ease of user interaction.

Self Cleaning Sun Tracking Solar Panel (2024)

Python, Arduino Uno, Fritzing, SolidWorks, Arduino IDE

A self cleaning, sun tracking solar panel. This device is primarily a tetragonal pyramid base with integrated electronics and mechanical linkages for wiping at chosen intervals. A mounting bar that allows for most conventional solar panels to be mounted. Hence, the base allows for double axis rotation to match the solar panel perpendicularly with a light source. Sensing is done using two LDR modules mounted at either side of the panel. It uses Brushed DC motors and steppers for movement. All electronics are controlled using an Arduino UNO programmed thorugh the Arduino IDE.

LiDAR Based Autonomous Self Driving Car (2023-Present)

Python, C++, SolidWorks, ROS-Galactic, Raspberry Pi, Ubuntu 20.04

An autonomous car model based on a Raspberry Pi 4B. The module uses a mechanical 3D LiDAR for sensing its environment and uses ROS to inerface the sensor with a host machine. It can detect in a 360 degree space and follow pre-determined routes for navigation. It is also capable of formulating routes on its own once a map or terrain has been recorded using SLAM toolbox and GAZEBO to generate a virtual map. Overall, the prototype is capable of self-navigation albeit it requires a helping hand in processing its data.

    Palm Fruit Harvesting System (2021)

    SolidWorks

A palm fruit harvesting system equipped with two servo arms. Each arm has a different and unique function. The two arms allow it to efficiently cut through and grip onto palm fruit hanging high in the air. The system has a range of 15 meters allowing it to safely harvest most palm fruits from their trees. This project was led by our team in order to suggest an innovative and safe method to harves palm fruits in Malaysia's leading palm oil industries.
